Job Summary

This position operates multiple types of equipment at a sand mine location in order to safely and efficiently bring sand to the market.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspecting water and haul trucks
  • Inspecting, loading and examination of the wash plant
  • Operating water trucks, haul trucks, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, man lifts and front-end loaders
  • Identifying errors in machinery or processes
  • Climbing piles, building pads, loading haul trucks
  • Operating bulldozers and maintainers
  • Tracking belts and diagnosing issues with conveyors
  • Operating control room equipment
  • Identifying, diagnosing and solving processing failures
  • Communicating and directing truck drivers
  • Operating crane and assist, replacing gear boxes and slurry pumps
  • Clearing overburden, building and maintaining mine roads, grading and drainage
  • Inputting data and records pertaining to purchase orders
  • Evaluate quality control reports and make suggestions to change processes
  • Responsible for daily mining activities, status of each piece of equipment and being aware of all hazards that may be present
  • Ensuring MSHA compliance
  • Oversee repairs and continuous production of plant
  • Oversee operations as needed
  • Assigning duties to staff during shift
  • Planning preventative maintenance
Job Specific Skills
  • Ability to assist with tools and parts
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of chemical and fractionator systems
Education & Experience

Minimum: 3 - 5 years related experience
