GE Aerospace Senior Casting Technology Manufacturing Engineer in Remote, Japan
Job Description Summary
The Senior Casting Technology Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support for the Airfoils and Structural Castings teams including new supplier development and onboarding. You will support engineering associated with manufacturing processes - specifically casting technology. You will align with the Sourcing Castings Commodity on business objectives and strategy, including Casting Supplier Producibility Improvements, Casting Supplier Development, Productivity Projects, and development of alternate Casting Technologies.
This position is eligible for remote work in Europe and Asia. Any hire would be expected to be available to travel to Cincinnati, Ohio multiple times in the first 6 months of hire for training and onboarding.
Expected travel 50%-75% for this position.
Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
Technical process and product ownership for castings commodity
Active role in the development and industrialization of new casting technologies
Work cross functionally with Quality and Design engineers to ensure that new processes achieve established metrics
Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product and technology development
Mentor suppliers in the application of quality tools & requirements and new technologies
Partner with sourcing team members for Casting supplier development and cost out projects
Design and implement manufacturing processes
Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area
Act as change agent, understanding and moving the operation toward world-class performance
Communicate progress & challenges to leadership teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field or a high school diploma/GED with 4 plus years Quality/ Manufacturing/Casting experience and 5 plus years Quality/ Manufacturing/Casting experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and 5 plus years Investment, Sand, and Centrifugal Casting experience or a high school diploma/GED with 9 plus years Investment, Sand, and Centrifugal Casting experience
US Citizen if based in the US
Desired Qualifications
SX and Equiax investment casting expertise
Additive manufacturing experience
Metal Injection Molding (MIM) experience
New Product Introduction experience
Siemens NX proficiency (or comparable CAD system)
TRL / MRL maturation experience
APQP / PPAP experience
Established project management skills
