As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to ensure effective and efficient operation of Water Treatment Plant, water analysis and in-house effluent & emission monitoring at plant site and to adhere to standards of regulatory authorities. The Shift Chemist is also to monitor and take measures to maintain the chemistry of water systems including Boiler chemistry within the prescribed Limits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain close coordination with Plant Chemist for Monitoring and managing boiler chemistry

  • Carry out on daily basis, analysis of Raw water, Waste water, Water treatment plant, boiler water & steam, Cooling Tower water and closed cooling system according to applicable standards and maintaining system chemistry within the recommended limits.

  • Operate of the water treatment plant (production / regeneration)

  • Collect sample for Lubricant / oil of plant & machinery

  • Manage personal protection device (chemical suits, respirators etc.)

  • Supervise & assist in unloading of all type of chemical from the chemical vendors.

  • Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspect / impacts related to work activities.

  • Issue Confined space entry, Gas free certificate etc. as and when required under the Plant Safety rules for ongoing job in the absence of Plant Chemist.

  • Raise work orders for required operational preventative and corrective maintenance

  • Travel extensively (internationally and domestically)

  • You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry focus

  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience in a similar position at combined cycle power plant preferably having GE F Class Technology or CCPP/Petrochemicals.

  • English proficiency required

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
