Zero Hash Counsel — Contracts and Regulatory in Remote, Illinois
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contracts and regulatory work, particularly within the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors. This role will involve drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and NDAs.
Provide legal advice and support on regulatory matters, including compliance with financial regulations, data protection laws, and cryptocurrency-specific legislation.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
Draft regulatory communications in response to ad hoc requests and correspond with senior attorneys with respect to same.
Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in the fintech and cryptocurrency space, and advise on their impact on the company's operations.
Assist in the management of legal risks and provide strategic advice to support business objectives.
Liaise with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal issues.
Support corporate governance matters and ensure adherence to internal policies and standards.
Conduct legal research and provide training to internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3+ years of legal experience, with a focus on contracts and regulatory work in the fintech or cryptocurrency sectors.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including securities laws, AML/KYC requirements, and data protection laws.
Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
