How you will make an impact:
As an Automation Integrator you will construct, integrate, and install custom crafted automation systems for the pharma and bio-pharma research industries at some of the most prominent research laboratories in the Asia Pacific region. You will be the team member for the successful completion of projects while upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s high standards for quality.
What you will contribute:
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with multi-functional project teams that include the customer, Project Managers, Automation Specialist, Designers, Software Developments, to plan and develop an ETO solution to achieve the agreed requirements.
Provide suggestions and highlight any concerns to the team including Designers, R&D Software/Hardware, and Project Managers
Participate in peer training among the Integration Teams
Share feedback to the Operations and R&D teams to help drive and implement continuous improvements
Manage workload within your team and adjust excesses/shortages
Assist in the creation of a detailed schedule specific to the customer’s project when required and in documentation, record keeping, and reporting the project status
Technical
Assembly and testing of electromechanical sub-assemblies
Construction of system platforms, safety guarding, and containment enclosures
Integration of sophisticated laboratory instruments for accurate positioning and establishing communications
Teach movers and multi-axis robots using our company's market leading scheduling software and validate all pick/place positions for smooth, efficient, and repeatable operation of the system
Support site acceptance testing and promptly help address any deficiencies cited
Assist in development of technical solutions to meet requirements
Help define and track the job build tasks required to effectively complete the project in a timely manner
Tackle automated robotic system issues when required
Identify and record changes to Bills of Materials and Work Instructions
Identify any part non-conformances and help implement the countermeasures
How will you get there?
Education:
- Technology diploma in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or other related subject area
Experience:
- 5 years’ automation integration (or related) experience
Knowledge & Skills:
Able to understand and follow mechanical and electrical drawings
Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Familiarity with testing and measuring instruments
Excellent interpersonal skill
Proficient software skills in Microsoft Office suit of applications
Familiarity with ERP systems considered an asset
Fluent English and Mandarin speaking and writing skills
Other Requirements:
Valid Passport
Ability to travel 50 – 75% of the time domestically & internationally without restrictions
