As the Health & Safety Corporate Manager you will be supporting the delivery of the HSE strategy and acting as the central subject matter expert for industrial health & safety. Coach & mentoring of site teams and support with the audit schedule. Responsible for HSE risk identification and awareness including its effective implementation, standardization and understanding at our manufacturing sites. Working with key stakeholders as the SME on HSE risk management and awareness, deliver and develop HSE risk and controls. Complete HSE Audits on GKNA site as per the annual HSE Assurance Plan.

How You'll Contribute

⦁ Manage corporate training requirements to align with Golden Safety Rules and corporate risk. ⦁ Strategic analysis to critical risk areas and micro/macro reviews of leading indicators. ⦁ HSE Core Auditor Support ⦁ Responsible for HSE risk awareness and its effective implementation and understanding on GKNA sites ⦁ Proactive review of proactive & reactive data and ensure clear planning on areas requiring attention, addressing the emerging risks or ongoing ones, creating action plans and create impact. ⦁ Act as an SME Management Mentor/Trainer where required to fulfil programmes identifying a lack of awareness ⦁ Management of change – risk analysis requirements ⦁ Responsible for Occupational Health with a focus on Health surveillance and collaborating with HR ⦁ Point of contact for Insurance Aspects (Risk Controls & Lost Prevention)⦁ If required, the Management of Tools related to High Risk in the company and its effective use ⦁ Responsible for Behaviour Based Safety Tool and its validation on sites ⦁ Ownership of the risk assessment standards and its effective application on sites ⦁ Ownership and production of health and safety reporting to the SVP SCC. HSE representative and custodian for Melrose offices London and Birmingham

What You'll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

⦁ Chartered Member IOSH/IEMA or equivalent. ⦁ Experience in management of an HSE team in a manufacturing business within the function of Health, Safety and Environment. ⦁ Strong HSE knowledge with 10-15 years’ experience in management of critical risks in manufacturing industries such as Lifting, Chemicals, Machine Safety and has documented certifications in this area. ⦁ Higher Degree level qualification within appropriate discipline. ⦁ Experience in developing and delivering effective HSE training programs at a national/global/multi-site level. ⦁ Clear Communication skills. ⦁ Strong self-management - working to deadlines. ⦁ Excellent command of spoken and written English. Fully proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook

Desirable:

⦁ Certified Lead Auditor with demonstrable experience ⦁ Experience on Catastrophic Risk Management, BowTie approach ⦁ Experience on Behaviour Based Safety ⦁ Experience in creating HS training and delivering the training ⦁ Former regulator experience or industrial safety expert trainer
