VetsEZ Technical Writer (Remote Opportunity) in Remote, Florida
VetsEZ is seeking a full-time remote Technical Writer to work closely with the development teams and support the deployment, management, and extension of knowledge management programs. The ideal candidate will possess both a technical background and a proven ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation. You will play a critical role in translating complex data integration and analysis concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation, particularly for VA and healthcare-focused projects.
Responsibilities:
Create, edit, and refine IT-related documentation (manuals, reports, specifications, and presentations) with clarity and consistency.
Collaborate with Senior Data Scientists and Analysts to document data architecture, pipelines, and workflows.
Develop and manage communications on SDLC releases, policy changes, and data integration initiatives.
Conduct research and interviews with technical teams to ensure accurate, user-friendly documentation.
Create training materials, user guides, and process documentation to enhance knowledge sharing.
Support SDLC phases by developing and maintaining User Requirements, Functional Requirements, and Design Documents.
Ensure documentation alignment with project goals, proposing improvements for clarity and usability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, Journalism, Computer Science, etc.).
3+ years of experience in technical writing in IT environments.
Strong ability to translate technical requirements into clear documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience with Change Management and SDLC phases (functional, regression, performance testing).
Proven ability to create and maintain technical documents (e.g., code deployment, training guides).
Software development experience (hands-on or support role).
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with VA Health Portfolio or Informatics Product Line is a plus.
Background in Data Integration Modernizations, Secure Messaging, or Healthcare IT documentation preferred.
Familiarity with Summit Data Platform (SDP), VA Profile, or military personnel data is beneficial.
Ability to obtain a government clearance.
