Job Summary:

The Scientific Advisor, EU, will drive market advancement of Thermo Fisher Scientific's allergy and autoimmune assays through flawless communication of scientific information, educational initiatives, and clinical practice changes. You will accelerate the adoption of our diagnostic assays through synthesis of clinical evidence, research papers, and scientific congresses, positively impacting clinical outcomes and public health.

As a part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Represent MSA at European congresses, symposia & customer events.

  • Share clinical findings and takeaways with internal and external collaborators, teams & functions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with scientific and patient-advocacy organizations.

  • Partner with field sales, sales management, and marketing to help provide peer-to-peer programming.

  • Assess clinical study protocols and partner in clinical studies.

  • Collaborate across multiple global teams.

  • Prepare & implement materials required to support autoimmune and allergy diagnostic products.

  • Meet with clinicians, laboratorians & customers including EU Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Provide clinical expertise in developing practice guidelines.

  • Provide scientific expertise to other functions within IDD.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Travel up to 30% throughout the region, with occasional international travel as needed.

Your qualifications:

  • Dedication and commitment to putting patients at the core of what we do.

  • Strong technical and social skills to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

  • Ability to build and present complex scientific data and concepts and business-related content.

  • Experience in product launches, preferably in the Laboratory or Clinical Diagnostics field.

  • Experience in scientific manuscripts writing and review.

  • Passionate learner of core technical and clinical subject matter.

  • Strong presentation, data analysis & influencing skills.

  • Experience with investigator-initiated and company-initiated studies. Experience with comparison studies is a plus.

  • Demonstrated skills with KOL management are desired.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Swedish, Spanish and/or German language skills will be a plus.

  • Self-motivated, comfortable working independently and within teams.

  • Well-organized, results-focused, and able to think quickly and creatively.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Education: MD or PhD degree with interest, experience, or specialization in allergy and/or Autoimmunity or MS degree with significant experience in medical or biologic sciences. Clinical or laboratory experience and a consistent track record will also be considered.

  • 5 years successful experience in diagnostic, clinical, or laboratory field, and a track record of success.

  • Proven experience in the medical device or diagnostics industry, or significant academic experience.

  • Extensive Knowledge of MS Office applications is required.

  • Proficient level of English.

  • Must have ability to be persuasive and operate effectively within a professional healthcare environment.

  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the territory.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and applications.
