Position: Plant Controller

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Plant Controller to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will play a key role in financial leadership within the plant management team. Your focus will be on delivering accurate sales and financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis to support our financial directives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cost Accounting Management: Maintain and optimize the Cost Accounting system, ensuring all raw materials and finished goods are accurately quoted and standardized. Reconcile WIP GL balances with the subledger, monitor variances, and ensure inventory GL balances align with the inventory subledger.

  • General Ledger Oversight: Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures while maintaining the plant’s General Ledger. Perform subledger reconciliations and maintain comprehensive records of all company transactions and assets in compliance with GAAP.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and develop operating budgets and financial forecasts. Implement and maintain planning and control procedures, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to management.

  • Manufacturing Cost Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of the manufacturing cost system, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

  • Financial Analysis: Direct and coordinate the financial affairs of the facility, preparing interim and periodic financial statements with supporting schedules for management guidance.

  • Sales Forecasting: Lead the weekly and monthly sales forecasting efforts, providing timely insights to support operational planning.

  • Fixed Assets and Capital Reporting: Maintain a robust reporting system for fixed assets and capital spending, including financial analysis of capital projects and preparation of ROI documentation.

  • Team Support: Foster a collaborative team environment by fulfilling individual assignments as directed by management and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 6-12 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, with proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial reporting software.

  • Ability to work independently while providing strong financial leadership to the plant.

  • Solid understanding of business principles, accounting practices, budgeting principles, and information systems.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Pay Details: $107,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
