Position Summary: Supervise the manufacturing operations in a safe and productive manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and assure adherence to operating policies and procedures to ensure plant performance goals, safe work practices and quality standards are achieved.
Attain shift standards for production efficiency, product flow and scrap reduction.
Identify and implement process improvement projects for productivity savings.
Participate in LEAN Manufacturing initiatives (PEAK).
Participate in Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.
Optimize production resources to improve service, reduce cost and ensure timely product delivery to obtain goals.
Hire, train, and manage performance of assigned employees within the requirements of the company and the collective bargaining agreement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Requirements / Education Level:
Required: Associates degree in Business, Planning, Process Control, Industrial Technology, or related field. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent along with five years of manufacturing experience with a minimum of three years in a leadership position.
Preferred: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field.
Work Experience:
Required: Minimum of three years related manufacturing experience in a leadership position within a high-volume production environment.
Preferred: Experience in plastic molding, Statistical Process Control, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Automated Assembly and packaging. Supervisory experience in a union manufacturing environment.
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to lead in a team environment.
Ability to develop and deliver training in a variety of settings. (classroom, one-on-one, small groups)
Ability to supervise the operation of ERP systems by direct reports to assure effective execution of inventory management and production reporting activities.
Skilled in communicating effectively (verbal, written, listening) with a variety of individuals.
Skilled in technical writing skills (policies, procedures, etc.)
Skilled in reading, interpreting, applying and explaining laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Skilled in prioritizing, organizing and managing multiple projects.
Skilled in providing customer service.
Skilled in use of personal computer and related software applications.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand/walk up to 75% of the shift
Lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to frequently bend and twist and have unrestricted use of upper extremities
Push/Pull up to 200 pounds of force
