U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center Program Manager (Product Lead Acquisition) in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business and Technical Management Career Path to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Deputy Product Lead in the office of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation. This is a pay banded position. The NH-04 encompasses grades 14 and 15 in the general schedule. Responsibilities Serve as a Supervisory Product Lead for assigned Acquisition system and/or related acquisition program. Responsible for all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million dollar annual budget. Analyze and evaluate programs as they affect the acquisition for product or services. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and or, setting priorities and scheduling completion. Visit industrial facilities, other government agencies and high headquarters to assure adequate program accomplishment. Balances cost, schedule and performance to assure best value for the Army. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13) grade level in the Federal service which includes:1) Providing direction in the areas of development, acquisition, integration, testing, and product improvements, fielding and/or sustainment of projects; 2) Managing a multi-million dollar budget for an acquisition program in the areas of cost, scheduling and performance; and 3) Briefing senior leaders, and or key stakeholders on the progress of an acquisition program. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Army Acquisition Corp (AAC) membership is required prior to appointment to a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Information on AAC membership may be found at http://asc.army.mil/. Selectees must sign an AAC written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least three (3) years. All candidates who meet the basic qualification requirements will be considered.
