Description We are offering a role for a Cable Technician in Redondo Beach, California. This role is in the telecom industry and provides a short term contract employment opportunity. The Cable Technician will be responsible for networking services in a higher education environment, working with specific fibers and cables, and maintaining accurate documentation. Strong communication skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suites are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide networking services in a higher education environment.

• Work with various types of fibers and cables including Single Mode Fiber (SMF), Inside Plant and Outside Plant (MMF), Copper, Cat-5e, and Cat 6.

• Maintain BICSI Certification.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and VISIO.

• Keep accurate typing and documentation, including updating tickets when necessary.

• Maintain strong communication skills and work effectively as part of a team.

• Install and manage broadband and EO/IR systems.

• Handle tasks related to OSP and Patch Panel.

• Conduct AB Testing and oversee Cable Installation procedures.

• Manage Cabling and Coax Cable operations.

• Work with Digital, Fiber Switches, and Fiber Optic Networks.

• Handle Copper Cabling and Network Cabling tasks.

• Maintain proper Network documentation, Documentation, Project Documentation, and Technical Documentation. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Cable Technician

• Proficient in Broadband, EO/IR systems, and Networking

• Experienced with OSP, Patch Panel, and AB Testing

• Skilled in Cable Installation, Cabling, Coax Cable, and Digital

• Familiarity with Fiber Switches, Fiber Optic Networks, Copper Cabling, and Network Cabling

• Proven ability in Network documentation, Documentation, Project Documentation, and Technical Documentation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suites is required

• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
