This Worldwide Learning Social Media Leader will leverage the power of social media to reach and engage with new learners that are eager to build their Aritifical Intelligence (AI) skills for today and the future. You will build the strategy for the Microsoft Learn specific social handles and partner with other Microsoft social teams that have expansive reach across audiences. The social media strategy will establish learner engagement of Microsoft short-form skilling content and create value for the overall Microsoft brand by deliveringfu impactful experiences across diverse social platforms.

We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the dynamic nature of the social landscape, demonstrating a deep understanding of various platforms and their content types, as well as the factors that drive social performance.  This role will work closely with various cross-functional leads, including the WWL Learner Audience insights teams, integrated marketing teams, data insights, and other Microsoft digital marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of full time employees (FTEs) and vendor resources to drive breakthrough learner engagement through social media outreach; manage relationship with social agency.

  • Build and manage the social media channel and editorial strategy for the @MicrosoftLearn social ecosystem.

  • Coordinate with the integrated marketing, product marketing, and audience marketing teams to influence social amplification and ecosystem opportunities.

  • Represent the WWL social strategy in v-team efforts within WWL and across the broader Microsoft social ecosystem.

  • Advise and collaborate with content development teams to coordinate and align strategies to maximize reach and engagement.

  • Integrate across multiple marketing groups and product teams to keep a pulse on upcoming moments, news, and product updates that will be relevant and should be shared with the community.

Qualifications

*Required/Minimum Qualifications *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field AND 6+ experience in integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

  • 4+ years experience building and running a commercial social media team and strategy and leveraging data to drive and influence decisions. 

*Additional or Preferred Qualifications *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field AND 12+ years experience in integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years people management experience.

  • 6+ years experience building and running a commercial social media team and strategy and leveraging data to drive and influence decisions.

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
