Microsoft Corporation Technical Advisor in Redmond, Washington

The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for ensuring that Microsoft's security practices are aligned with the needs and expectations of our customers, partners, and regulators. The Customer Security Management Office (CSMO) is a team within the Office of the CISO that focuses on building trust and transparency with our customers and stakeholders on Microsoft's security posture, capabilities, and practices. The Technical Advisor is a key role within the CSMO that will drive the strategy and execution of creating a community for global Regulated Industry customers, partners, associations, and organizations. The goal of this community is to foster closer alignment and collaboration with Microsoft on security matters, share practices and insights, and provide feedback and input on Microsoft's security offerings and roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep technical expertise to the CSMO, Office of the CISO on cybersecurity topics Interface with customers to provide technical information related to the Office of the CISO Align with the various Office of the CISO technical functions to synthesize data and develop technical communications Provide direct cybersecurity technical support to the Deputy CISO - CSMO Maintain cybersecurity technical depth expertise to support the CSMO.

  • Works with the content team and all technical teams in Digital Security and Resiliency (DSRE) to develop appropriate technical content for the CSMO. Provides subject matter expertise for all technical content for the CSMO office.Other

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex and technical concepts in a clear and compelling way to diverse audiences.

  • Relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with leaders, customers, partners, regulators, and industry peers.

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering impactful and engaging programs and initiatives that educate, inform, and influence the global Regulated Industry community on security matters.

  • Passion and curiosity for learning and staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations in cybersecurity.

Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
