Actalent Software Engineer - .NET/C#/Kuberenetes REQUIRED in Redmond, Washington

ON SITE Contract Job Opportunity in Redmond, WA.

Pay: $45 - $55 Hourly MAX

  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to manage infrastructure for service functionality, game streaming, managing consoles and creating tools to simplify the developer experience around those resources, as well as making sure that there's consistency in how people use them and compliance in terms of security and other vulnerability requirements at Microsoft.

  • Key projects: This role will contribute to the expansion of the game streaming offer for XBOX and ensuring that there is more availability, globally.

  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20% meetings and collaboration. 80% is heads down design and implementation.

  • What makes this role interesting? - This role provides the opportunity to contribute to the gaming edition of XBOX ecosystems. Managing a large set of infrastructure while using the latest technologies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 2-4 overall years of experience in the field.

  • Degrees or certifications required: A computer science degree is required to be eligible for this role.

  • Disqualifiers: Candidates with job hopping will not be eligible for the role.

  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience with the technical/computer skills needed, experience with distributed systems and Kubernetes.\

Summary:

The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Modify existing databases and database management systems.

  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.

  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.

  • Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

  • Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

  • Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.

  • 2-4 years experience required.
