The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Team Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the team. Our team mission is to Build and provide User Experience (UX) dev platform to accelerate application development for Microsoft Azure Engineering teams, and host applications in a cohesive portal used by Internal Operations, Capacity Managers and External Supplier users to help Azure teams reduce cost, increase quality, and reduce cycle time in support of the Microsoft Cloud. This team is at the center of Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution as we build UX experiences for our users and are investing in developing ubiquitous, consistent, modern and reliable AI infrastructure to support this.

Responsibilities

  • Develop front-end applications and back-end services that provide critical business workflows to power mission-critical decisions

  • Deliver platforms and tools that accelerate application building and provide consistent user interactions across a variety of applications

  • Engage with engineers within the team and business partners across Microsoft to identify opportunities to build products that accelerate business decision making

  • Get applications and services to production quickly while ensuring code quality and security.

  • Design and build highly available robust and reliable services.

  • Build software prototypes and conduct experiments to evaluate alternative architectures.

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the development, quality, testing, and production readiness of the services you build.

  • Effectively communicate status of the deliverables, issues, and risks

  • Mentor members of the team

  • Conduct periodic on call duties

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience adapting to, and learning new languages, tools, and environments

  • Computer science fundamentals with testing, debugging, and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of various design patterns and technologies that enable business problem-solving at scale

  • Experience developing high-performance service-oriented solutions

  • Communication skills with both engineering and non-engineering colleagues

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
