Microsoft Corporation Senior Business Program Manager- Regulatory Governance in Redmond, Washington

In Regulatory Governance, our goal is to help create systems and processes for effective compliance and maintaining trust across the four core trust domains - cybersecurity, digital safety, privacy, and responsible AI.

This role will play a key part in collaborating with domain experts and product lawyers to connect legal guidance (such as regulations, internal standards, and contractual commitments) with the technical execution of those requirements by engineering teams. The person in this role will ensure that engineering activities are consistent with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies. This individual will make policies operational in a way that can be effectively carried out by engineering teams, ensuring compliance without sacrificing innovation or efficiency. The position demands a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and cross-organizational collaboration for success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with legal partners to identify overlaps between regulatory requirements within the four trust domains (privacy, cybersecurity, digital safety, responsible AI) and streamline compliance efforts to build for a trustworthy AI era.

  • Provide actionable technical requirements, mapping operational guidelines to specific technical needs across engineering products.

  • Break down technical requirements into service-level tasks, ensuring clear, consistent, and actionable documentation for compliance criteria.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in policy, operations, or Trust & Safety within a technology environment.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in defining and tracking OKRs/KPIs to measure program success and knowledge of Microsoft’s engineering compliance systems and processes such as Service Tree, S360, and ADOs.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-team results through collaboration and partnership.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
