Microsoft Corporation Senior Business Analytics Manager in Redmond, Washington

The License and Contract Compliance Team (LCC) is growing our optimization efforts aligned with Microsoft’s company strategy. We are seeking an experienced Program manager who has a record of successfully identifying process optimization opportunities; creating the business case for change (including the data/analytics to support change) and driving automation initiatives.

The License and Contract Compliance Team (“LCC”) plays a pivotal role in protecting Microsoft’s Intellectual Property. “Microsoft Runs on Trust” and to this end LCC works with Microsoft’s global Partners and Customers to help ensure compliance in both the traditional on-premises world and in the cloud. Delivering valuable enterprise insights that will impact how Microsoft evolves its approach to licensing and Customer/Partner engagement from a contractual standpoint in the future, is a key element of our mission.

The Senior Business Analytics Manager is primarily responsible for identifying and supporting the identification of opportunities for streamlining processes and determining the impact of automation and driving efficiencies via tools and capabilities leveraging the potential of Power Apps and AI. The primary focus will be on automation and process simplification to drive efficiencies, increasing standardization of existing processes and improving stakeholder communications -especially as related to Licensing rules- using Microsoft automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the distribution rhythm of critical business reports.

  • Serve as reporting maestro and liaison by working closely with stakeholders to develop report requests and interpret data.

  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to stakeholders.

  • Perform data quality analysis, validation, and basic clean-up—and where issues are found, proactively seek to resolve them with upstream providers.

  • Produce statistics and reports to demonstrate BI Reporting value, usage, trends and escalations, and perform deep dive analytics and ad hoc analyses as needed.

  • Develop business applications and app modernization concepts including no-code / low-code orchestration, application tools and chat bots.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge ofPower Apps; Microsoft Fabric, Copilot and Azure AI services including OpenAI & Cognitive services.

  • Cross-group collaboration experience and skills with ability to work within and across organizations to get engagement, build consensus, and overcome obstacles

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and Business Intelligence, and familiarity with Microsoft tools including Visual Studio, SharePoint, Office, Power Business Insights, Kusto, Databricks and Data Factory would be preferred.

  • Experience data mining large databases and using data to understand progress and evaluate success.

  • Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills with the ability to work across organizations to get engagement, build consensus, and overcome obstacles

  • Microsoft Power Platform experience with specific knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents and Dataverse.

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, and Azure AI services, including OpenAI & Cognitive services

  • Proficient in data analytics languages (SQL, R or Python) and some programming experience (e.g., C#, C++, Java).

Business Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
