Job Information
Meta Research Scientist Intern, Applied Vision (PhD) in Redmond, Washington
Summary:
Reality Labs brings together a diverse team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interface, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives.Join the Display Systems Research (DSR) team, whose work spans next-generation VR headsets, new types of computational displays, novel experimental systems, and AI-driven graphics. We are seeking a research scientist intern to work at the intersection of basic and applied science with the goal of passing the Visual Turing test. Members of our team have the opportunity to collaborate with academic institutions and publish their work. Projects can be studied with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach thanks to internal resources in mechanical, electrical, optical, and software engineering. The ideal applicant for this role is either an expert in visual perception with engineering and coding experience or an applied graphics or hardware researcher with past projects related to visual perception and vision science. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
