We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager - Azure Security at Microsoft and play a pivotal role in defining security program management objectives that maximize short, medium, and long-term cybersecurity posture improvements, and reduce the overall residual cybersecurity risk for the Azure stack. This person will aim to attain Program Management Excellence and in doing so will build approaches that harness the feedback, knowledge, and power of our partner teams and the broader engineering community to improve Azure cloud cybersecurity, and to develop our team.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager - Azure Security, you will also have opportunity leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge security solutions and processes to enable customers and developers in designing and building innovative secure cloud services and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development & Execution: Take a pivotal part in and lead/orchestrate the annual and semester planning processes, and the related periodic review meetings/cadence, and the RoB in general. Also, lead and orchestrate the definition, collection, tracking, and reporting of the team Objectives and Key Results.

  • Drive the Execution Model: Together with the team leader and the LT, drive the execution model, via tracking the results, identifying the areas of improvement, suggesting and initiating course corrections, and communicating/reporting the progress.

  • Control and Monitor Results: Ensure right OKRs are in place to achieve right outcomes for improving our cybersecurity posture and measure the related business impact. Analyze security outcomes and partner feedback to drive continuous improvement to drive sustainable security posture improvements.

  • Lead Change Management Efforts: Develop strategies and land models to effectively scale existing execution capacity and to introduce new security program management concepts.

  • Program Management Excellence: Build the relevant frameworks and design the initiatives to continuously improve the program management excellence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, technical program management, data analysis

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, technical program management, data analysis

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Experience in driving program strategy at the divisional and/or organizational level, with deliverables including successful kick off and exiting programs with desired outcomes.

  • Experience in driving executive reporting, with above average attention to details.

  • Experience in providing large enterprise customer support solutions.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
