Azure Machine Learning (AzureML) is at the center of Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution as the world moves towards integrating Artificial Intelligence through Large Language Models (LLMs) into services and applications that impacts millions of people in their day-to-day lives.  As a Principal Software Engineer of the AzureML Back Plane team, you will be building a scalable, secure, and compliant system that manages every AI model on Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design software systems that balance fundamentals, customer experience, and enterprise requirements

• Lead implementation efforts from concept to completion, including coordination with partner teams

• Implement features in dotnet cloud services with both high quality and high velocity

• Work with product stakeholders to understand and clarify business, technical, enterprise, and user requirements in the area

• Embody our  culture  and  values     

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

• Experience working with cloud services

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure as a platform

• Experience with core Azure services

• Experience with dotnet and aspnetcore

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
