The Xbox Gaming Devices Ecosystem team is looking for a Principal Product Manager who has a proven track record of managing a complex product portfolio and defining products across hardware and experiences. The successful candidate will build a compelling player-centered vision for the future of devices and game play, galvanizing teams to execute across engineering, design, marketing, and sales disciplines.

As a Principal Product Manager you will balance our in-market product health and performance with the development of our long-term product vision and roadmap. You will own both the roadmap and product for our business. You will carry the product roadmap from concept to prototype to implementation. Ideal candidates will have a solid track record of managing and shipping products in a leading edge, evolving, and ambiguous environment. Expectations include effective written and oral communication skills, exceptional cross-functional project management capabilities, and experience at the forefront of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Be at the heart of defining, organizing, and driving our overall strategy for current and future Xbox devices and experiences.

  • Work across Microsoft to integrate advanced technologies to define our products and manage a roadmap that is holistic with development and manufacturing processes.

  • Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation throughout the team. You will have the opportunity to work inside and outside Microsoft to develop solutions that work across multiple devices. This will require deep hardware development knowledge as well as software considerations for multiple architectures and product generations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with hardware product development.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Enthusiastic, attention to detail, results oriented, organized, motivated and self-driven.

  • Experience with a full shipping cycle of gaming focused products (e.g. Games, Xbox, Playstation, Steam, etc.)

  • Deep passion for consumer products, gaming or the entertainment business.

  • Self-starter who not only deals well with, but thrives in, ambiguity.

  • Drive to innovate and solve complex problems while retaining focus on maintaining a profitable business.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
