Daily program: work with special education teacher; construct a daily schedule of classroom routines and activities. Prepare and implement lesson plans Interactions with children: interact positively with all children to support their individual learning and meet their emotional needs Interactions with families: communicate regularly and respectfully with families and involve them in the education program Individualizing: make ongoing written observations of individual children. Based on information, develop a learning plan for each child within six weeks of school entry. Provide a curriculum and environment, including a multi-cultural environment, which meet the needs of every child, including those with disabilities developmental screening: after being trained on the administration of a standardized screening tool, conduct a screen, and re-screen then make referrals as necessary Recruit and train volunteers for the classroom Family support: encourage and support families in working toward the goals they have set for themselves Parent involvement: participate in, encourage and support family involvement in all aspects of the program. Attend at least one parent meeting per year Record keeping: maintain complete records on each child, stored in a confidential manner Staff training: attend staff in-service training, applying knowledge gained to ongoing work in the classroom.
