Job Description

The Material Handler position has three main functions: Receive materials and product into the Olympus facility; control inventory of raw materials assemblies and finished goods; ship materials and product from the Olympus facility.

Job Duties

• Receive materials and product:

• Check all received materials for shipping damage.

• Match received items to applicable purchase orders and record their receipt.

• Reference appropriate MSDSs for handling and labeling of hazardous materials.

• Deliver items to appropriate Locations or recipients.

• Process returns per established procedures.

• Control inventory:

• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels through transaction records and physical and cyclical inventory counts.

• Ensure production materials and finished goods are secure.

• Deliver items to manufacturing per initiated Work Orders.

• Deliver items to users per material requests.

• Maintain Kanban inventory locations.

• Shipping:

• Properly secure all items for shipment.

• Use common and specialty carriers as required for shipment of items from Olympus.

• Update applicable inventory records affected by shipment of items.

• Maintain shipping Log for all items shipped.

• Transact all materials and shipments in ERP system (Oracle)

• Work with engineers and technicians to resolve process issues and suggest improvements.

• Maintain accurate and timely records/documentation related to quality material control work.

• Strictly adhere to general safety rules, Manufacturing Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifiations

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree a plus.

• Minimum of 2 years working in an office lab or manufacturing environment required.

• Experience with traditional machines equipment and tools related to material handling preferred.

• Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Ability to work overtime including evenings and weekends on occasion.

Preferred:

• Experience working with Oracle order management system or similar ERP system a plus.

• Experience with physical inventory cycle counting a plus.

• Experience with pallet loading strapping and wrapping a plus.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Experience using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $21.40 - $27.82 / hour, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
