TEKsystems Lab Inventory Technician in Redmond, Washington

TEKsystems is seeking laboratory inventory technicians to support one of our large clients in the Redmond area.

Long term W2 contract. No sponsorship provided.

5 days a week onsite in Redmond, WA

Laboratory environment.

Must have mechanical or electrical experience.

Must have inventory management experience.

Description:

This project is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This role is for a highly dynamic and motivated individual that will work on aerospace/space hardware/equipment to meet the needs of this project.

We are looking for an outstanding technician with demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be responsible for working at spacecraft lab and related critical systems to perform critical inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a technical foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Day to Day activities may include:

  • Inventory management

  • ordering, organizing mechanical and electrical equipment for an IT lab

  • receiving equipment racks and installing basic electrical equipment

  • High attention to detail and excellent organization skills

Physical Demands:

• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, climbing ladders, and walking

• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds

• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)

• Working conditions may include small spaces, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours

Operation Support:

• Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practices

• Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner

• Must be able to work with other testers and be able to uphold safe practices

• Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience and proficiency in the following areas:

• Must have mechanical knowledge using tools such as screw drivers and hammers wrenches L keys, and power tools

• Must have apprentice level of electrical and mechanical mechatronics 2-4 years of experience and needs experience using multimeters.

• Automated systems and controls, needs to be able to read electrical schematics

• Electrical and electronic principles

• Preventative maintenance procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload

• Ability to work successfully with little supervision

• Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field

• 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.

• Basic understanding of ethernet cables and network knowledge to be able to differentiate the equipment.

• Electrical, Electronic, mechanical, computer and controls skills at workplace

• Familiar making electrical cable connections.

• Familiar using MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Slack, Chime and Quip

• Diligent work ethic

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong personal/integrity
