Microsoft Corporation Infrastructure Supply Planning Leader in Redmond, Washington

The Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) organization is seeking Infrastructure Supply Planning Leader. In this role you will be responsible for establishing an executable Data Center (DC) Base Infrastructure Supply plan to support our rapidly scaling global data center infrastructure supply, which supports the full spectrum of Microsoft products and services including Azure, Office365, Exchange, xBox, and many more. This role sits at the nexus of multiple teams which come together that enables successful delivery of data center supply. This starts with the demand signal and ends with full network build out that supports the physical data center infrastructure.

This critically important role will be responsible for developing base infrastructure capacity plans (land, land development, energy) that balance cost, lead time, and risk in accordance with supply planning management best practices. In addition, this role will be responsible for identifying supply plan constraints and coordinating across engineering, operations, and finance teams to evaluate and recommend potential solutions. The solutions developed by the individual in this role will be delivered to executives through a high-tempo rhythm of business that demands the ability to develop robust analysis and documentation, communicate crisply, and drive changes on short intervals. Moreover, the individual in this role will own the roadmap for process and software tool development to generate systematic reporting and execution rhythms

The role requires deep expertise in supply strategy, total cost to serve, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), statistical inventory management methods, advanced planning systems and methodologies, and IT infrastructure concepts.

  • This role is located in - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Base Infrastructure Supply Planning

  • Document key demand and supply drivers and dependencies and input processes to signal critical infrastructure.

  • Establish base infrastructure centric supply planning principles.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement network data center supply planning improvements drawing on statistical methods, supply planning principles, S&OP best practices, and emerging software technology capabilities.

  • Prepare, present, and discuss network data center supply strategy with senior leadership relating to cost, lead time, risk, and technical/operational constraints

  • Work across a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure we collaboratively improve, adapt, and adopt our processes and supporting software systems to support rapidly changing business requirements.

  • Builds and manages key relationships needed for supply planning. Drives collaboration and alignment on plans; cross-functional relationships.

  • Drives long-term strategy for plans and drives additional forecast variability, and with longer-term planning horizons.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 10+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 8+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology related field,

  • OR equivalent experience.

These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, FInance OR related field AND 13+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, Finance, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing OR related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics OR related field AND 10+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years people management experience

Supply Planning M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
