HOSPITALITY MANAGER
At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 3M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and that work starts here at our Redmond Campus, we are looking for experienced kitchen personnel to help us create world-class experiences for our growing teams.
The Hospitality Manager role is a team-oriented role for individuals who are familiar with basic customer service principles and have a firm understanding of all basic food and beverage safety principles. This role is responsible for setting the direction of the hospitality team within our Food Services department. To ensure the positive experiences of our employees, corporate guests, and customers, the Hospitality Manager will oversee all aspects of the dining and food services experience on site. This role will include people management, planning, internal branding, and cultivating a culture of development within our teams. Managing all guest-facing aspects, this role is integral to ensuring a positive overall brand for the Food Services team here in Redmond.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees customer interactions, flow of services, events, and daily catering
Sets and enforces standards for hospitality operations
Monitors quality, consistency, and menu accuracy of offerings in all service locations
Ensures the team maintains clean and safe workstations throughout the operation
Trains staff on customer service, food safety, and allergen and nutritional awareness
Coordinates and enhances time management for the team
Monitors financial activities for Hospitality operations
Creates and maintains departmental training materials
Ownership of direct report structure with 6 or more staff members
Conducts regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports
Supports scheduling, sales data collection and reporting, and various other administrative tasks
Supports conceptualization and implementation of new services and offerings
Direct support of the Executive Chef's responsibilities when necessary
Facilitates effective communication throughout all levels and groups of staff
Ensures collaboration with the culinary team to align both the front and back of the house management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalency certificate
Must have 7 years of industry experience and 3 years of leadership experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPEREINCE:
Familiarity with ordering and inventory systems in a Food Services environment
8 years of previous food service experience in a guest-facing service role
5 years of Leadership Experience
Experience in a corporate dining environment
Experience with high volume and/or multi-facility operations
Experience working in large team settings
Experience opening new operations and/or creating operational procedures from the ground up
Strong time management skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Comfortable working with Microsoft office (word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint)
Must be able to organize work for large groups in various service formats
MAST – Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Permit (Class 12 mixology permit)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Ability to carry large heavy items unassisted (up to 50 lbs.)
Able to stand for long periods – up to 10 hours a day
Able to work all shifts and available for weekends as needed
Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
Must have or be able to attain Manager level food safety certification (ServSafe Certification, WA state food handler’s card)
Must participate in internal leadership and development training
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Hospitality Manager: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
