Hardware Design Engineer BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Hardware Design Engineer opportunity in Redmond, WA. Position Title: Hardware Design Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. Expected Duration: 6 Months Job Type: Full time Contract Pay Range: $60 to $65 Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Requirements: Job Description: Title: Hardware Design Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Duration: 6 Months (Potential chances for extension) Responsibilities: The Junior Studio Engineer will be part of the Microsoft Devices Organization and will work closely with the Industrial Design team. Primary responsibilities include working with Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and Tooling Engineers, to develop world-class computer hardware products. The deliverable of the Junior Studio Engineer is the development and execution of 3D surface data created using Creo CAD software. Development includes the enhancement of existing products as well as the development of new product designs and concepts. The Junior Studio Engineer will be responsible for: * Working with the Industrial Design, User Experience, Mechanical Engineering and Tooling Engineering teams in the development of digital models ranging from rough concepts and prototypes to final surface models. * Understanding and supporting mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing requirements, while bringing design intent through to production. * Providing necessary information to model makers to develop physical appearance prototype models. * Participating in the creative development of new concepts and the evolution of existing concepts in development. * Meeting design deliverable schedules as required to support our fast-paced product development process. Basic Requirements * Industry experience using Parametric 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Catia) * Industry experience working with Industrial Design in the consumer product field Preferred, but not required * A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field * Technical experience with mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing of consumer products. * A solid grasp of Creo Parametric Software, Top-Down Design, Skeleton Models * Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing and CNC model development * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Candidate Requirements * Years of Experience Required: 2-4 years of overall experience * Degrees or certifications required: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field * Disqualifiers: There are no specific disqualifiers for the role. * Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have Technical experience with mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing of consumer products.
