Salary:                 $177,815/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits.

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Duties:

Design, develop and implement hardware-near software for system-on-chip, microprocessor, microcontroller, and other components used in wearable products. Responsible for embedded software design and optimization for these platforms. Work with diverse teams within the company on domain specific design and implementation both around hardware management and control, as well as application specific areas such as video processing and machine learning. Create and maintain system software components including device drivers, firmware and tools to manage the hardware. Work with security teams on implementing best practices for platform components. Work with emulators and prototype/FPGA hardware on software development and hardware validation. Work with HW and application teams to bring up hardware, test functionality, debug and performance tuning. Work with production teams on qualification and validation suites and trouble shooting. Collaborate with sensor calibration team to design and implement embedded Software such as sensor streaming applications to help calibrate various on-device sensors. Collaborate with power performance team to design and implement embedded software to ensure device work with designed power and thermal budgets. Collaborate with display and optics team to design and implement embedded software for display enablement and calibration.

Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field and three (3) years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following: 1. C/C++ coding; 2. Contributing to large scale software development; 3. Developing algorithms and high-performance firmware and software; 4. Kernel development for industrial and consumer electronic products; 5. Hardware architecture, bring up and debug; 6. Linux kernel or RTOS driver models and frameworks around media, networking, or storage; 7. Embedded firmware development on X86 and arm platforms; 8. Debugging low level firmware, leveraging tools such as JTAG; 9. Platform security, device security, secure boot, trusted execution environment, and cryptography.
