SUMMARY:

The Assembler performs a wide variety of various assembly functions, based upon their commensurate skill level I, II, III, TV. The required work performed may be under direct to minimal supervision. The overall work required, but is not limited to; cleaning, sanding, soldering, assembling, and inspecting. The Assembler is required to work to specific Work Instructions provided by the Technician. The primary objective is to provide the customers with a quality product that meets their expectations in the established Turn-Around-Time (TAT) requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • ASSEMBLER I: Works under direct supervision, cleaning, sanding, kit preparation. May involve use of various power tools such as electric screwdriver, dremel,
  • ASSEMBLER II: Performs Assembler I duties, under close supervision and includes basic installation of lenses, filters in panels. Minimum 1 year electrical soldering experience (IPC or J-Std.).
  • ASSEMBLER III: Performs Assembler II duties under limited supervishn and moderately complex surface-mount (SMT) and plated through hole soldering operations, including single and multi-layer boards. Ability to perform all levels of assembly and soldering operations in one or more of the following products: Lightplate, Integrated Switch Panel, Battery Pack, Control Panel Assembly, Interior Lighting. (Minimum 3 years of electrical soldering experience (J-Std.) and paint-touch up.
  • ASSEMBLER IV: Performs Assembler III duties under minimal supervision and provides training to other team members, perform functional testing on various products listed under Assembler III. Minimum 4 years of electrical soldering experience (J-Std.) and In-Process Inspection certified.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

a) Knowledge and skills

• Has basic assembly knowledge of assembling electronic devices, can read drawings, blueprints, PBS, and ATP's. Has the ability to use common hand tools and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth gages, power tools, etc. Has ability to read and follow verbal and written repair instructions. Has the ability to accomplish basic soldering and wiring tasks (circuit board repair such as surface mount and through-hole soldering).

b) Education and/or experience

• A combination of education, training, work, and/or other life experience which would provide reasonable assurance that the required knowledge and skills have been acquired by the applicant.

c) Communication Skills

• Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently.
