The role of Chief of Staff (COS) to the President of the Xbox Organization is accountable for maximizing the impact, efficiency and time of the Xbox Leadership Team’s cross functional work. Operating as a force multiplier, this role will focus on enabling the leadership team to focus on high-level strategic initiatives by taking on a range of strategic, operational and tactical responsibilities. The COS embodies versatility, adaptability, problem-solving skills and maximized throughput as they drive the business operations, communications, and cultural health of the Xbox organization.

Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives

Drives strategic initiatives and provides thought leadership, managing ambiguity, complexity. Mitigates risks with significant financial impacts. Monitors and ensures transparency to business and financial health. Creates shared vision, clear direction, and accelerates delivery of Xbox’s mission and priorities.

Business Operations

Drives the architecture, and execution of the rhythm of business. Drives business review cadence. Leads business management and communications staff. Aligns strategy, processes, and resources with mission, objectives, and key results. Ensures that the leadership team is aligned on the headcount strategy and participates in or leads the organizational design for headcount allocation.

Communications

Partners with PR on the development and production of internal and external communications strategy, materials and deployment of communications tactics. Triages and ghostwrites on behalf of the leader to expedite leader's time responding to emails. Develops presentations and messaging to articulate the team's mission, key projects, organizational/company strategy, and vision on behalf of the leader.

Organizational Health

Drives team culture and health by monitoring team pulse, leading culture initiatives (e.g., D&I, hiring, onboarding), and partnering with HR. Leverages team strengths, addresses gaps, and plans trainings. Tracks and responds to Employee Signals. Ensures a healthy compliance scorecard for the organization.

Team & Community Leadership * *

Leads the Xbox COS Office team to ensure coordination across teams and with partner organizations (PR, CELA, HR, Finance, etc.); create an inclusive Chief/Business Management team culture in support of continuous improvement and development. Support and provide leadership for the community of Xbox Chiefs of Staff. Contribute to the broader Gaming COS community.

People Management

Manages team growth, projects, and performance. Empowers and coaches the team while embodying our culture and values. Defines team goals and enables cross-boundary success. Knows individual capabilities and aspirations and aligns work to maximize business impact.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in technology-related program management,professional services, consulting, financial management, business planing, strategy, or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Management consulting background/relevant experience

  • Previous experience leading a direct team

  • Experience working with and across executives to drive business outcomes

Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
