What you’ll do:

This position is responsible for the overall management of manufacturing and its continuous improvement at

the Lakeside facility. To achieve this the role assumes overall responsibility for leading manufacturing teams in

achieving production to meet the agreed financial and strategic goals, product quality, product cost, and

employee safety. It will require coordination with all functional and service groups to meet customer

requirements and leverage resources to motivate personnel to create a high-performance culture. To enable

this lead LEAN process deployment, training and mentoring at the plant level and the implementation of

LEAN strategy, which will drive improvements in factory margins, product delivery performance, employee

safety and reductions in product/process variation.

  • Strategically manage and direct all manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements and performance excellence for a world class manufacturing facility.

  • Own and provide leadership to implement and maintain a LEAN system to continuously improve manufacturing and support functions, improving productivity, efficiency and factory cost out.

  • Ensure improvement activities such as training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, LEAN/EBS tool deployment and benchmarking, etc. that will enable development of staff and deploy the EBS toolbox.

  • Ensure QLI initiatives are met in full and all Quality requirements for product integrity are continuously reviewed as part of the culture of manufacturing.

  • Accountable for improving Eaton’s Operating assessment (OpA) process for manufacturing.

  • Support the product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing Quality and delivery achieved.

  • Assure that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed, considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.

  • Assume an integral and key role within the leadership team to support the plant’s continuous

  • improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Multiple years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience

Skills:

  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving

  • In depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and concepts and tool sets as they relate to LEAN systems

  • integration.

  • Thorough Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes

  • Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational change to control and reduce cost.

  • Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams

  • A robust understanding of Quality and product integrity including the deployment of key initiatives to assure Quality and safe guard the end user.

  • A sound understanding of safety in the work place including key initiatives to promote and establish a safety culture.
