Dignity Health Supervisor Paramedic in Redding, California

Overview

For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under indirect supervision the incumbent is accountable for assisting management with coordinating the overall operation of the department to ensure that the optimal schedules, staffing levels and payroll outcomes are in effect and are based upon census, acuity and budget. Incumbent is also responsible for assisting management with ensuring sound financial oversight of operations. The incumbent incorporates differences into the provision of care and integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families with an awareness of cost containment and time management. In addition the incumbent trains, evaluates and supervises staff in carrying out department policies and procedures. The position reports to the Manager Ground Ambulance. Position reporting to this position are EMTs and Paramedics

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years experience with active full time EMS provider

  • AA Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience

  • Current California Paramedic or NREMT equivalent

  • S=SV EMS Accreditation

  • BLS CPR, ACLS, PALS Certification (Must be through the American Heart Association)

  • Current clean CA Drivers License with Ambulance endorsement

  • Current Medical Examiner Certification

  • Verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Ability to work through various software applications associated with ambulance daily work flow

Pay Range

$33.68 - $48.84 /hour
