Lisa Cole with Robert Half is in search of a Controller for a great company based in the Redding, California area. The role will primarily involve overseeing the financial and accounting processes for the organization. Responsibilities will range from the preparation of financial statements to managing cash flow and ensuring an effective internal control environment. Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including operational and financial analysis.

• Oversee the accounting and finance processes and procedures and ensure an effective internal control environment is maintained.

• Manage cash across the two operating units and distributions to Owner.

• Provide information to outside accountants for the preparation of income tax returns.

• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, business insurance, monthly billings of county clients and reconciliation of accounts, and collections of receivables.

• Manage county contracts, bank relationships, and prepare monthly census data reports.

• Utilize software such as QuickBooks for managing accounting and finance tasks.

• Lead and maintain a well-functioning accounting and finance team.

• Contribute to risk management, administration, accounting, and reporting.

• Develop business planning and forecasting, analytical and business decision-making skills.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position

• Demonstrable experience with QuickBooks software

• Ability to perform Month End Close tasks efficiently

• Experience in preparing and analyzing Monthly Financial Statements

• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
