Job Description The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $53,200 - $76,108 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Planner position is a critical function which executes Purchase Orders for Red Wing branded footwear, workwear, accessories and other designated items of spend. Given the level of purchasing, this position requires careful review of each Purchase Order to balance the demand signal with product on order, in transit, in inventory and sales levels to optimize inventory turns. Success in this position requires a high level of attention to detail; as well as monitoring the daily operational supply chain purchasing activities. Excellent organizational, communication and cross functional collaboration with Demand Planners, Product Line Merchants, Sales, respective Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, as well as the Sourcing Managers, Director and Chief Supply Chain Officer roles are a must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Continually review and monitor MRP / Logility demand reports to manage appropriate inventory levels to execute economical buying decisions regarding raw materials and finished products for optimal distribution and sales. Place purchase order releases on a routine basis to ensure adequate inventory levels, carefully considering what is already on order, in transit, inventory levels and sales volumes. Maintain acceptable corporate inventory levels needed for customer service while minimizing total investment. Carefully review and balance supplier capacity / output by overall volume, construction type and any unique raw material lead times which may impact on-time-delivery performance. Work cross functionally with Demand Planners, Product Line Merchants, Sales, respective Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to review demand of existing product and prepare for new product launches. Evaluate and improve supplier performance scorecard ratings through the review of on-time shipment reports and internal feedback to ensure suppliers continue to meet expectations of delivery, quality, cost and service. Act as a liaison between organization and suppliers/subcontractors to support business units with supply continuity efforts. Analyze, manage, and resolve discrepancies between PO, receipts, and invoices working with suppliers, warehouse personnel and finance. Monitor back order reports on a weekly basis to expedite orders and ensure on-time delivery. Maintain PO documents, including but not limited to items/services costs, payment terms, FOB terms and delivery method. Establish price standards for fiscal year budget planning. Develop and maintain positive relationshi s with suppliers and visit supplier sites as appropriate. Collaborate with Product Creation, Logistics and Finance to ensure compliance with procurement processes/procedures and leverage best practices/synergies. Uphold Red Wing Shoe Company's core values policies Complete other duties as assigned by your manager Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics (or) two years equivalent with related work experience Computer skills and experience with MRP systems (Infor), Logility, Excel, and other MS applications Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and work effectively with cross functional teams Strong verbal and written communication skills Continuous improvement skills and ability to lead change Problem solving, cost analysis and action planning Understanding of and experience in applying procurement principles Supplier contract negotiation experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics ASCM (Association Supply Chain Management) CPIM (Certified Purchasing Inventory Management) or CSP (Certified Supply Chain Management) Additional Information Red Wing Shoes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
