Job Title: Saw Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our team. The position is available for the 1st shift (6am - 2pm) and the 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm), with training on the 1st shift for 1-6 weeks. The Saw Operator will be responsible for setting up and running all saws and sanders on the production floor. The role requires the ability to saw and sand parts within tolerance with minimal supervision and accurately complete required paperwork while following established procedures and work instructions.

Hard Skills

  • Setting up saws and sanders

  • Operating saws and sanders

  • Changing saw blades

  • Welding saw blades

  • Changing sanding belts

  • Operating lifting devices

  • Understanding material grades and marking

  • Completing material issue and return sheets

  • Selecting material from staging area

  • Using ESS terminal

  • Returning material to return area and inventory

  • Completing first article inspection forms

  • Performing basic math functions

Soft Skills

  • Requires minimal supervision

  • Keeps work area clean

  • Performs special duties as assigned

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

This position is in a plant environment which involves working near moving mechanical parts and being exposed to fumes or airborne particles over 2/3 of the day. Outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock are encountered under 1/3 of the day. Loud noise, typical for metal can manufacturing departments and large earth-moving equipment, is common. Slippery floors are also a typical condition.
