Mental Health Professional

Salary - $55,000 plus incentive potential

Location - Berks County, PA

Do you have experience in human services and want to work for a company that actively improves the lives of the individuals it serves? In the Mental Health Professional role, you will employ a range of techniques to provide home therapy based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication, and case management that is designed to improve the mental health of an individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a partner Mental Health Worker (MHW) to provide the co-therapy dynamic based on the model of therapy

  • Develop individualized treatment plans in line with the eco-systemic structural family therapy model

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, genograms, ecomaps, crisis safety plans, and critical event timelines

  • Conduct twice a week scheduled face-to-face meetings with client and caretakers to discuss treatment strategies and services

  • Perform work within the community in a variety of locations including: residential homes, duplexes, apartments, and condos as well as other community-based locations such as schools and libraries.

  • Prepare and train the individual’s biological or legal parents to provide care for their child to prevent the possibility of out of home placement

  • Maintain client’s chart record

  • Develop and coordinate discharge plan based on treatment, indicating all relevant aftercare needs and plans

  • Access community resources beneficial to client aftercare needs

  • Attend required training and meetings

  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a human services field

  • 2 years of experience working with children

  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly

  • A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance
