Opportunity House Box Truck Driver in READING, Pennsylvania
Who we are and what we do:
Opportunity House has been helping the homeless population of our area since 1984 and has expanded significantly since then. Our emergency shelter served over 500 people and 90,000 meals last year. We also offer a childcare and learning center, services from the Children's Alliance Center, assistance for veterans, and reuse and recycle services that reinvest funds back into our agency to further support our mission and services.
What we are looking for:
We are searching for a highly motivated, energetic individual to fill our current opening for truck driver. This position requires ability to lift heavy items (with assistance when needed), ability to drive a 20' box truck in the city and surrounding areas, ability to use a scheduling app on the company paid mobile phone. Outstanding customer service skills is required due to interacting with customers. Must have the ability to work as a team with the assistant truck driver.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am- 4:00pm
Basic responsibilities:
- Drive the truck to pick up scheduled donations as well as deliver scheduled furniture deliveries
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to driving the company truck
- Must have a clean driving record for 3 years.
- Must have the ability pick up and move items as needed up to 100#
- Must have outstanding communication skills
- Must be able to follow instructions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
