Summary:
Meta is seeking an experienced Connectivity Engineering Manager (CEM) to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction (DEC) Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure, and the DEC Construction Management team is committed to continual optimization of the delivery process at each level.The Connectivity Engineering Manager (CEM) will work with a leadership team of three onsite Campus Construction Manager (CCM) leads. All four leaders will report to an onsite Area Director to collaboratively deliver a mega AI enabling infrastructure campus of unprecedented scale (potentially greater than 2GW) and strategic importance to Meta. The scale mandates three GC’s and multiple Structured Cable Subcontractors onsite. The CEM will lead a team of 3 Connectivity Engineers. Collectively, they will be responsible for the successful deployment of the overall structured cable network across a 9 building campus inclusive of managing vendor relationships, supporting the direct purchase of cabling products and relationship management with key cross functional partners within Meta that design, deploy and support our networks.

Manager, Connectivity Engineering Responsibilities:
Report to onsite Meta Area Director. Share accountability for project and campus success in: Safety, Quality, Schedule Milestones, Forecast Accuracy, GMP Accuracy in collaboration with the 3 Campus Construction Managers with a specific emphasis on the deployment of the structured cabling system. In collaboration with the Campus Construction Managers, oversee the cooperation and coordination of each GC, structured cable vendors and associated structured cabling scope of work to culminate in the delivery of one integrated project.
Assume accountability for DEC Delivery’s values in partnership, teamwork and growth within their team and in collaboration with Area Director and CCM leads at the campus
Recruit, manage and develop onsite team of direct report Connectivity Engineers.
In collaboration with Area Director and CCM leads at the campus, ensure a productive and mutually beneficial owner/vendor relationship with the strategic vendors (General Contractors, Cabling Partners, Consultants, Trade Partners) associated with the project.
As a manager/leader, provide proactive feedback and performance management to ensure a high functioning team.
Within broad organizational focus areas, drive the strategic vision for the deployment of the structured cable system, and interface with a wide variety of internal and external teams to achieve cross-program goals for the project.
Along with your team, execute best in class construction management for the deployment of structured cabling systems.
Vendor Field Management - Responsible for all connectivity activities associated with the deployment of structured cabling on site including tracking and reporting actual progress related to schedule expectations. Set and communicate clear expectations together with the on site team, build key relationships with our installation partners and drive best practice, safe working environment and execute to a vision of ‘right first time.’
Quality Assurance - Perform physical inspections to ensure vendor work meets DEC quality standards throughout the lifecycle of the data center. Validate physical installs, test reports, build accuracy, material and local code compliance including constructability reviews on multiple design phases.
Technical Field Leadership - Technical leadership for industry and Meta standards, responsible to lead product evaluation, design, and installation methods in the field including scope clarification, design and installation details as the owner of the Request for Information process.
Technical Coordination - Develop solutions to in-field scope-gap or clash issues. Partner with DEC design and engineering teams to digitally support design reviews, BOM reviews, and as-built drawing validations.
Communications & Cross functional team engagement - Liaise with construction partners to ensure deliverables are met. Coordinate with logistics partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure a smooth end to end flow of materials as needed. Work closely with the relevant teams to proactively communicate progress and project risks and initiatives to key stakeholders.
Safety - Ensure that vendors adhere to safety obligations in accordance with local regulations and DEC Safety best practices. Lead a 'safety first' environment, with open and transparent communication. Acknowledging good EHS practices.
Provide support to negotiate construction contracts and change orders directly with the contractors and vendors as required.
Coordinate multiple stakeholder requirements involved in the early turn over of phases within the program schedule.
Travel domestically as needed (anticipated 10 - 20% travel).

15+ years experience in project management in a construction and/or connectivity focused role.
Experience engaging and guiding stakeholders.
Experience providing solutions to construction and/or connectivity related problems.
Experience in leading and managing a team of 3 or more direct-report employees

Experience reviewing and leading development of structured cable products, design documents and specifications
Data center development and/or construction management experience.
Experience with Google Docs and Primavera 6.
Experience managing IT or IP Network deployment projects in a mission critical environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of a common goal.
Experience in leading deployments of Network/Structure cabling infrastructure.
Experience with fiber optic testing at scale inclusive of complex troubleshooting.
Experience with outside plant cabling (OSP) deployments including OTDR/OLTS testing.
Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control, including progressive inspections and acceptance.
Public Compensation:
$171,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
