JOB SUMMARY*

Provides technical leadership in the areas of design, development, testing and production scale-up of new packaging components, systems and processes. They lead projects and provide mentorship to Junior Packaging Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Designs, develops, and facilitates validation of package components and packaging processes

  • Evaluates new package concepts and technologies. Leads process improvement or task teams.

  • Partners with the creative design group to deliver packaging components in a timely manner for research and development and packaging system projects.

  • Leads major sections of new package development projects. Aligns on packaging methods and techniques and adapts standard methods to meet variations.

  • Uses technical expertise, comprehensive work experience, complex and diverse package engineering knowledge to generate valid creative solutions.

  • Continually evaluates new packaging solutions and alternatives in order to improve operating efficiency, generate market differentiators and add sources of revenue.

  • Participates and provides technical expertise for risk assessment and compliance assurance programs.

  • Assures delivery of robust, cost efficient, fully compliant packaging solutions that meet current and emerging customers’ needs.

  • Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintains the highest levels of integrity, at all times.

  • Promotes and cultivates the highest standards of integrity, ethics and compliance and actively supports our compliance program-related initiatives and activities.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience required

  • Experience with new product development and commercialization of products in a regulated industry as an engineer

  • Experience as a package development engineer or a strong understanding of the package development process and responsibilities

  • Proficiency in computers, and technology including MS Office applications

Preferred

  • Experience as a technical lead of projects

  • Regulated / Med Device experience preferred

  • Knowledge of ISO 11607 preferred

Other:

  • Requires International and domestic travel up to 10%

  • This is a hybrid role that requires you to work in Raynham, MA a minimum of three days per week
