Develop assigned parts in accordance to specified requirements. Coordinate part mounting in the vehicle with other design groups and with the part suppliers. Calculation and track cost and weight for assigned parts throughout the assigned project all while maintaining an open item list for assigned parts. Part development must meet required project timing by generating and maintaining a development schedule for assigned parts that ensure the development milestones are met. Layout reviews, and layout check database completion by reviewing the content with technical experts. Generating technical report documents for correlation, internal evaluation events, and for coordinating System Verification with suppliers. Creating 3D data and 2D drawings, and issue drawings that meet the project drawing issue deadlines. Scheduling and leading meetings with suppliers, factory and other ADC departments as needed to develop the assigned parts. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering; 5 years of engineering experience in the automotive design field either OEM or tier 1 supplier; 3 years of experience with CATIA V5; 3 years of experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); 3 years of experience designing automotive metal stamping brackets or designing plastic components for interiors; 2 years of experience working with automotive regulation requirements (Interior projection, radio laws, FMVSS); 2 years of hands-on experience with ability to retrofit vehicles and create mockup for vehicle evaluation; 2 years experience with MS office tools PowerPoint, Excel skills; 1 year of experience with Lotus notes database management or equivalent MS system; 1 year of experience mentoring entry-level Engineers; 1 year of experience with FEA/CAE analysis of metal brackets; and 1 year of experience in competitor analysis and quality studies.
