CNC Machinist Job Description
Job Overview Creative Composites has an opening for a full-time CNC machine operator for a person with excellent hands-on mechanical ability and a familiarity with online & off-line CNC programming. Dependability, adaptability, professionalism, and good work ethic are a must. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating CNC machinery, interpreting blueprints, and utilizing various tools and techniques to produce high-quality components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Position will include operating CNC VMCs, CNC Turning Center, 5-axis waterjet & 5-axis router to create parts made out of Aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, Kevlar, fiberglass, and other materials.
- Person will be responsible for assistance with tooling design, tooling fabrication, process development and part manufacturing, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Set up tooling and fixtures for machining processes.
- Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for quality control and inspection of finished products.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in machining.
- Maintain equipment by performing regular inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Must be capable of navigating a PC in a Windows-based environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical documentation.
- Familiarity with tooling setup and operation of CNC equipment.
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for quality assurance.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.
- Proficient in CAD software for design interpretation.
- Ability to work with various power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
