Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The company, a leader in robotic automation and material handling equipment, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join their team. The company manufactures a range of sophisticated palletizers and industrial conveyors for the Food and Beverage and Chemical industries.

Responsibilities

  • Use machine drawings, assembly drawings, control schematics, and relevant bills of materials to build and troubleshoot as needed.

  • Engage in reducing or eliminating non-value-added work throughout the organization.

  • Utilize hand tools to perform tasks such as structural assembly, mechanical drive assembly, fluid control assembly, guard and cover assembly, mechanical assembly, and simple electrical assembly. Ensure work represents quality craftsmanship, neatness, and acceptable efficiencies.

  • Complete quality assurance checks for Blue Books.

  • Provide accurate documentation including labor reporting, material issue/returns, material moves, and material scrap reports.

  • Execute inventory re-ordering policies, including 'Kanban'.

  • Prepare equipment for shipment, including machine teardown.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with mechanical assembly

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Strong general labor skills

  • Ability to measure accurately using a tape measure

  • 1+ year of mechanical assembly experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Good documentation skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with quality assurance checks

Work Environment

The work environment includes a very clean and well-lit facility. Assemblers typically work in groups of 2-6 and use Milwaukee tools. The standard hours are 1st shift from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch break. There is the potential for voluntary overtime on Fridays or Saturdays, and candidates need to be comfortable with the possibility of involuntary overtime, which is communicated on Mondays. Assemblers may be asked to work on platforms 20ft high and 70ft long.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Randolph, Wisconsin.

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $23.50
