Posting is for two Engineering Technician III positions that will serve as project inspector on roadway and structure projects for the Asheboro Resident Engineer's Office. Position Nos. 60020602 & 60020618 will be filled from this posting. You only need to apply once to be considered for both positions. Duties include conducting independent moderate to complex inspections, sampling and testing of materials, analysis of engineering related data, and supervision of lower-level Technicians and CEI Personnel. Additional duties include ability to complete daily dairies, sample cards, asphalt report, NPDES reports, material received forms, survey notes, and monthly estimates. Work may include highway construction surveying and layout. Employee may be exposed to high traffic volumes, work at heights over water or traffic, and extreme temperatures. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and traverse rough terrain. Work may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle.

  • Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision

  • Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience of Requirement:

Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
