We are seeking an experienced and talented Soil Technician I to join our Southern California team for our Rancho Cucamonga office. This is a non-exempt position.
Responsibilities
Effectively communicate with contractors, clients project managers, and supervisor
Remain current on a daily basis, all assigned projects via project managers, supervisors, or other technicians
Prepare all field paperwork, maps, daily reports, and test sheets and submit them daily/weekly
Communicate on a daily basis to the direct supervisor and project manager of each project, project progress, and any special situations or problems
Review and be knowledgeable of the contents of the Soil Technician's Procedure Manual
Attend all tailgate safety meetings for each project assigned
Attend all Loss Prevention and other required meetings
Follow company policies and procedures and all safety procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Educational emphasis in Geology or Civil Engineering is a plus
0-2 years experience in construction or field-related industries
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
Previous work emphasis in geotechnical engineering a plus
Ability to analyze, and perform simple mathematical computations
Ability to interpret general plans, specifications, and project-specific geotechnical reports, professional journals, and technical procedures
Must be able to pass OSHA Training and Nuclear Guage Certification training provided by the company
Must have your own vehicle to be able to transport nuclear gauge/field equipment and go off-road on undeveloped property
