Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry, located in Rancho Cordova, California. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for managing accounts payable activities, maintaining vendor relations, and supporting internal audit requests. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable functions, including processing check requests and matching invoices with purchase orders for payment

• Input invoice data into the accounting software system and ensure correct account coding

• Verify employee expense reports and process them accurately

• Issue checks on a weekly basis using accounting software systems such as QuickBooks

• Address inquiries from both internal and external customers, providing problem resolution as necessary

• Regularly review and reconcile all Accounts Payable and related general ledger accounts

• Conduct annual processing of 1099s and renew consultant agreements

• Maintain regular communication with upper management and vendors regarding payments, invoice errors, and account questions

• Assist with the preparation of quarterly sales tax return with FTB

• Provide support for all audit requests as needed and assist with month-end closures. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is vital

• Must be adept at using Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Should have experience with Concur

• Knowledge in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary

• Ability to handle various Accounting Functions is needed

• Must have experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Understanding of Accrual Accounting is crucial

• Auditing skills are beneficial

• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) is a plus

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential
