GCG VP of Finance - Automation & Factory Solutions in Raleigh, North Carolina

Overview

GCG Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative Vice President of Finance to serve as our FP & A leader, facilitating a laser focus on the financial decision-making for our evolving business unit!

In this mission critical role, you will own the annual operating review process along with monthly forecasting, P&L reviews, KPI’s, and business unit profitability to ensure that financial goals are achieved . You’ll work closely with the business unit’s executive team and sales leaders, providing business performance insights, financial context, and strategic guidance across operations, commercial, vendor relations, and human capital.

You’ll also partner closely with GCG’s corporate accounting and finance teams to ensure that sales compensation strategy and accounting processes are streamlined and aligned with the business unit’s financial growth goals.

Success in this role requires a high sense of urgency, a keen understanding of financial planning within the light industrial space and the ability to effectively communicate with leaders from all levels of the business . Additionally, previous FP & A experience within a private equity owned organization is extremely beneficial.

This position offers a remote work arrangement for candidates with the desired finance leadership experience in light industrial manufacturing and / or industrial automation however, the ability to travel approximately 25% to 35% will be required to regularly meet with executive, commercial, and operations leaders. Additionally, in order to align with work schedules for business unit leadership, location in either the Eastern or Central time zone is strongly preferred.

What you’ll do

  • Enable strategic decision-making to drive commercial strategy and operational goals

  • Further develop and own the segment’s overall financial forecasting model

  • Work collaboratively with the executive team to develop KPIs aligned with the strategic plan

  • Advance insight and understanding of financial goals and KPIs to drive alignment and accountability in commercial sales and operations

  • Understand, create, track, and report on metrics that drive sales growth and the company’s long-term financial health

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and development of KPI’s for the commercial sales and operations teams

  • Support GCG’s information needs related to the segment’s performance, goals, and long-term outlook

  • Provide streamlined, consistent reporting for monthly operating reviews and quarterly board meetings

  • Provide financial insights both within the division

What you’ll bring

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA or MBA is a plus)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial leadership, supporting commercial and operational organizations

  • Experience in light industrial manufacturing, automation, or related sectors preferred

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of financial business intelligence and complex processes, including costed bill of materials

  • Strategic thinking and process improvement expertise

  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights into organizational financial health

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), ERP systems (e.g., Epicor P21), and data visualization tools (PowerBI)

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and execution skills

What we offer

  • Annual salary of $175,000 to $200,000 per year; the annual salary range for this role is ultimately determined by the amount of applicable experience in previous financial leadership positions specifically within light industrial manufacturing or industrial automation
