SUMMARY

Assists in the development, design, and support of network communications, servers, and storage solutions. Uses knowledge of Cisco-based LAN/WAN systems to help design, install, and support internal networks. Uses knowledge of Microsoft technologies to help design, install, and support business solutions. Tests and evaluates network, server, and storage systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Network traffic engineering including MPLS, Point to Point, and Metro Ethernet data circuits. Responsibilities include monitoring of traffic, reporting, trunk capacity monitoring, project management, and forecasting of network needs based on trends.

  • Provides direction on routing and network utilization to efficiently direct traffic around the Bank’s private network.

  • Network facility capacity management; ability to manage the capacity of various pieces of network equipment required to deliver services.

  • Provides engineering, implementation, and support of solutions using current Microsoft applications, including Exchange, IIS, SQL, SharePoint, SMS, MOM, and other related applications.

  • Provides third-level troubleshooting on network and server equipment service problems.

  • Works with external equipment and services suppliers to evaluate products and services.

  • Participates in vendor negotiations as it relates to the network capacity and problem resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to document equipment and software configurations, as well as processes and procedures.

  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  1. Bachelor (4-year college) degree and 10-12 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  1. Microsoft Office suite

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (Ex: CPA, Series 6 or 7 license, etc)
