Applied Research Associates, Inc. Receptionist in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a professional with a friendly, customer service attitude interested in joining our administrative support team in Raleigh, NC. Duties include providing front desk coverage, checking in visitors, answering the main phone line, supporting our managers and employees, and assisting with daily office needs. The ideal candidate will deliver a professional and qualified first impression to all visitors. This person has excellent communication and customer service skills. They have a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask.

To be successful in this role, candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive with good attention to detail. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. They must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, they should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others.

Receptionist's Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Work the front desk, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Raleigh, NC office

  • Greet customers, visitors, and guests; determine the purpose of each person’s visit and direct or escort them to the appropriate location

  • Meeting support, including food requests

  • Stock and maintain kitchens

Receptionist's Secondary Responsibilities include:

  • Administrative and clerical support tasks

  • Inventory management

Receptionist's Required Experience & Skills:

  • US citizenship required

  • Eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment)

  • High School Diploma with 1-2 years of related experience

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Local to Raleigh, NC

Receptionist's Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. with a full range of motion

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk

  • Ability to push and pull a rolling cart
