Insight Global Migration Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description

As a member of our team, you will collaborate with Practitioners and Professionals from diverse fields within our consulting practices as well as from our client organizations. Through these engagements, you will gain exposure to a variety of technologies, providing you with the opportunity to become an expert and broaden your skillset into new areas. Our practitioners lead and support technical teams in designing, building, and deploying cloud solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments. They are responsible for owning and delivering specific outcomes, while effectively managing relationships with various clients and stakeholders.

DAY TO DAY

Handling a Migration Project for a client, upgrading 343 sites

The candidate will be doing the planning, documentation and change management of the migration

Skills and Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

TOP MUST HAVES:

 CloudGenix (Prisma SD-WAN) or Palo Alto ION 1200s

 Juniper Access Layer Switches

 Juniper Wireless Access Points

 6-8 years of experience doing migration work

o Must have experience doing the planning and execution of migrations

 Building the equipment out

 Communicating with a vendor

 Working independently

Qualifications:

Candidate should meet the requirements from at least one of the focus areas below:

Focus Area: Network Engineer

 Over 5 years of experience in enterprise networking technologies with a comprehensive understanding of:

 Layer 2 protocols, including ARP, 802.1Q, DTP, VTP, and Spanning Tree

 Layer 3 protocols, such as BGP, multi-area OSPF routing domains, and protocol redistribution

 Layer 4-7 technologies, encompassing TCP, Load-Balancers, Firewalls, and DNS

 Possession of advanced network certifications, such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent vendor-specific certifications

 At least 5 years of relevant consulting or industry experience, including large-scale, enterprise-class consulting or systems integration

 Ability to travel up to 75%

Focus Area: Network Security Engineer

 A minimum of 5 years of relevant consulting or industry experience, particularly in large-scale, enterprise-class consulting or systems integration

 Network security certifications at an expert or professional level, such as CCIE: Security, FCE, JNCIE-SEC, CCNP: Security, PCNSE, JNCIP-SEC, FCP, or equivalent vendor certifications

 Experience with compliance standards implementation, enforcement, and reporting, including SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, DFARS, etc.

 Strong understanding of security protocols, including Dot1X, TACACS, RADIUS, SSL/TLS, IKEv1, and IKEv2

 Proven experience in architecting, deploying, and supporting security architectures such as Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), and Network Access Control (NAC)

 Ability to develop, define, and enforce IT system protection policies

 Ability to travel up to 75%

Focus Area: Wireless Network Engineer

 A minimum of 5 years of relevant consulting or industry experience, specifically in large-scale, enterprise-class consulting or systems integration

 Expert or professional-level wireless certifications, such as CCIE: EW, CWNE, CWISE, CWIxxP, CWxP, Aruba ACMX, or ACP

 Experience in planning, executing, and documenting comprehensive multi-floor wireless site surveys

 Strong understanding of RF technologies

 Proven skills in designing and validating the quality and performance of RF links.

 Prior experience in architecting, planning, and deploying large-scale wireless networks

 Ability to travel up to 75% Preferred

 Demonstrated expertise across all project phases, including planning, building, testing, and transitioning solutions to meet project objectives

 Extensive experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting networking equipment, with direct hands-on keyboard experience

 Proficiency in documenting and explaining network topologies to a wide range of audiences

 Knowledgeable about network security devices such as next-generation firewalls and intrusion prevention systems, with a deep understanding of their applications and integration within enterprise network segmentation initiatives

 Possession of Network Security certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Checkpoint, VMware) is advantageous

 Comprehensive knowledge of the advantages of spine-leaf networks compared to traditional 3-tier architectures, including an understanding of network overlays using protocols like VXLAN

 Experience with enterprise network monitoring platforms, capable of deriving actionable insights from reports to support proposed solutions

 Solid grasp of public cloud benefits and the provisioning of private networks, with proven experience in connecting enterprise networks to public cloud environments through leased lines or VPNs

 Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) are beneficial

 Strong understanding of the benefits provided by software-defined networking and network orchestration, with experience in designing and deploying SD-WAN being a plus

 Ability to develop and test virtual networks for proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate industry-leading practices

 Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, SSL/TLS, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, LDAP, and Microsoft AD)

 Familiarity with enterprise wireless controllers and various access point deployment strategies

 Skilled in network traffic analysis using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and iperf for troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues

 Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform) to facilitate network automation adoption is a plus

 Familiarity with API interactions and the ability to understand common data models and markup languages such as YANG and JSON, aiding in customer interactions with networks programmatically

 Involvement in assisting senior leadership to design technology and process landscapes, and develop comprehensive solution strategies

 Proven track record of migrating legacy network environments to modern configurations in phased approaches to minimize downtime and mitigate risks

 Capability to create essential materials for client workshops and interactive customer sessions

 Excellent articulation, communication skills, and strong interpersonal capabilities

 Engagement in transformation initiatives for medium to large-scale organizations

 Experience in deploying data center virtualization and compute environments, including software-defined networking and hyper-converged infrastructure null
